Tuesdays & Thursdays
Tue. & Thur. @ 6:30 pm
Classes Start: 7/12/22, 7/14/22
Whether you have a puppy, a reactive dog, or something in between, I have classes to help you and your dog. All classes take place at the Learn Pawstive classroom in Columbia MO, a classroom setting where you learn about body language, how to teach your dog the basics, and what you can do when your dog displays dog behaviors you aren’t fond of in our human world.
Does your walk become difficult when you come across another dog? There’s a class for that! Whether your dog is learning to be around other dogs or is ready to learn the basics around other dogs, there’s a class to fit your dog’s needs and help you learn #ThePawsitiveWay.
For dogs 9-23 months old
Has your puppy grown up into a rebellious "teen?" Join me in class to learn strategies for this specific phase of dog development and what to do to ease your frustrations (don't worry, it's only a transition). Learn how to use what you've taught your dog to get back on track.
Teach your dog:
First week is a human-only orientation
Dogs who are great playing off leash but struggle with being on a leash around other dogs will excel in this class. Learn all the basics while teaching your dog how to be calm around other dogs. The humans will learn how to take their dog for a walk and handle challenging situations.
Teach your dog:
Need more positive experiences to stay on the #ThePawsitiveWay? Reactive Dog Walks or these enrichment classes may be exactly what you need.
For Rebellious Teen & Reactive Etiquette graduates
Are we currently working together or have we worked together in the past? Working on your behavior and training plan but having trouble finding other dogs around to help? Join me for reactive dog walks to practice your dog’s skills and talk to other reactive dog owners for support! If it’s been awhile since we’ve seen each other, sign up for the reactive dog walk seminar to learn about the newest science and information from the last year and revisit walk safety. If you’re interested in attending the walks but we haven’t worked together, sign up for an Initial Consultation to get started.
For puppies 2 months to 8 months old
Join me each week for socialization and learning. Each week will have a puppy theme, such as house training, teething, or socialization, and we’ll take breaks from play to learn important basic cues to help you and your puppy with those puppy behaviors.
Do you and your furry companion need help with specific goals? Are you looking for a personalized training plan to get there?
Whether you have a puppy, a reactive dog, or something in between, we have the group class for you and your busy schedule!
Are you ready to work with a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant? Answer a few questions and we can get started!
Our dog, Nova, used to react to other dogs and people from over 20 feet away. After working with Heather we can safely walk on trails and at parks without Nova having a reaction. Nova truly is a different dog.
~ Mollie O. & Nova
Sadie had a lot of issues with intense reactivity (out of fear) with other dogs. Heather worked with us in a class setting with other reactive dogs in a slow and controlled manner. By the end of the class we were able to walk with other dogs in sight without a reaction using the techniques she taught us!
~ Lisa S. & Sadie
With Heather's help, my dog Pepper went from being reactive or shut down, to being trusting and more confident. I learned how to be her advocate and to love her for exactly who she is. Heather truly changed our lives so much for the better.
~ Laura N. & Pepper
When Scout developed problems with fear and anxiety of certain men and being left alone, she was quick to refer us to a vet with expertise in behavioral issues and working with us one on one to come up with positive ways to redirect his behavior. We love her force-free, positive reinforcement techniques, her love and passion for animals and have had great success working with her. Can’t recommend her highly enough!
